Practicum Site and Supervisor: Joseph Wong
Sometimes clients feel like they ARE the problem and there is no point seeking help, because they can’t see a way to effect change.

Every client is different, but each has a set of strengths that can be used to overcome their hurdles. I use a balance of validating the client’s strengths, emotions and efforts, as well as, helping them find individualized tools to effect change.

I strive to create a safe environment where clients can feel understood and supported. I have an adaptive approach, providing clients with options and breaking down difficult obstacles into manageable steps, so that clients can begin to feel a sense of accomplishment early on in the process and start to create positive change.
