Practicum Site and Supervisor: Joseph Wong & Associates Counselling.

 

Shimoor is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), currently completing her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology, who is qualified to practice under the clinical supervision of an approved practicum supervisor. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and additional training in various mental health-related topics. She has over a decade of experience supporting children and youth, both within the community and the public school system, with a focus on special education, and is currently in private practice in Ontario. 

 

Shimoor has a keen interest in issues related to anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. She is well versed in working with diverse populations, ages, and neurodivergence, and she strives to provide culturally-relevant and socially-just support.

 

Shimoor’s therapeutic approach is client-centred, and based on a foundation of strong therapeutic relationships and respectful, empathetic care. She tailors sessions based on the client’s specific needs and goals, drawing from a variety of counselling modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

 

Shimoor is a very friendly, open-minded, and compassionate therapist, offering a safe, comfortable space. She is available to support and work with you on improving your mental health and wellbeing, and achieving your goals.
