Alana is currently a Master’s level MA in counselling psychology practicum student, who is qualified to practice under the clinical supervision of an approved practicum supervisor.

 

Alana is also a Registered Social Worker MSW.

 

I approach counselling as a collaborative journey that we can embark on together, where you are the expert of yourself and I act as an objective guide to assist you in developing the awareness, skills and strategies required to navigate towards your counselling goals and wellbeing.  My approach to counselling is person centered and solution focused, prioritizing the development of a therapeutic relationship to provide the safety and support to address the difficult issues that arise in life. I employ counselling skills of motivational interviewing, mindfulness, grounding techniques and components of ACT and CBT. However, my priority is to get to know you as a whole person, with a sense of curiosity and reflection to provide us both with ‘in the moment feedback’ to ensure we are understanding each other and the journey we are on together.   I look forward to hearing, from you and how I might help you on your journey.
